Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Cancel My Account?

You can cancel your Scholar Campaign as long as funds have not been raised.  If any money has been raised your account must stay active until the ending date of your campaign.  Contact support@scholargifts.com to cancel your account or campaign.

Who is a Scholar?

“Scholar” refers to anyone who has developed a proposal and is seeking financial gifts to fund an educational need.  Scholars can include current and future students from toddlers in pre-school to octogenarians learning to zumba!

Who is a Gifter?

A gifter is an individual or organization who donates money (gifts) to a scholar’s campaign.  Gifters can include friends, parents, grandparents and other relatives, teachers, mentors, school administrators, graduates and anyone who wants to support and encourage people to pursue their educational dreams and/or learn new skills and lessons.

What is the SCHOLARgifts Wall of Fame?

The SCHOLARgifts Wall of Fame features a rolling list of names of those contributing over $100 to the SCHOLARgifts’ Pooled Fund.  Wall of Famers who contribute over $500 receive additional visibility through advertising on the SCHOLARgifts website.

If you are interested in being part of the SCHOLARgifts Wall of Fame or otherwise  advertising on the website, contact us at support@scholargifts.com for details.

What is the SCHOLARgifts’ Pooled Fund?

As a promotional incentive, SCHOLARgifts has added an innovative feature to its platform — a periodic “Pooled Fund” drawing where Scholars who have reached their fundraising goal have the chance to receive a Bonus Gift from funds donated to a collective “pot.”  To be eligible to participate in the SCHOLARgifts’ Pooled Fund drawing, your successful fundraising goal must have exceeded $1000.

What is CrowdFunding?

Crowdfunding is a type of online fundraising where people create leverage by pooling their money to support the efforts of others. With SCHOLARgifts, there is a “crowd” of people interested in a Scholar Proposal who will invest in a Scholar’s campaign by gifting donations, in exchange for customized appreciation rewards.

Is There a Limit on How Much I Can Donate?

Yes.  SCHOLARgifts does not allow more than four gifts from the same donor to a specific Campaign.

Who Do I Contact With Questions?

If you have questions about a particular Scholar Campaign, contact the Scholar directly by clicking the “Contact Me” button on the Scholar’s campaign page.  If you have a question about WePay, contact WePay  directly.  For all other questions, email us using our contact page.

What is the Funding Goal and Campaign Deadline?

You are required to set a specific funding goal for your Campaign and a time limit to meet this goal.  Campaigns cannot be set to last longer than 60 days. The Campaign deadline is the last date by which donors can contribute financial gifts toward your funding goal. Studies have shown that campaigns that end in 30 days have the best chance of success.

What Are Campaign Updates?

Scholars communicate with Donors/Gifters via Campaign Updates to keep them informed on the progress of the campaign. Campaign updates are automatically emailed from the website.
